Hi there,

Can you tell us your experience with Satio’s battery life? I was really looking forward to Satio, but most of the reviews so far are reporting that battery is real Achilles heal of this device. Not being able to survive one whole day on the battery charge and having to charge every night means that you cannot simply take the phone for the camping weekend away and take the photos for two days. Any comment would be highly appreciated.

Hi, I will post a review on battery life soon. For now I will tell you that all of these reviews are either biased or they don’t charge their battries properly :)
P.S. for now I’ll only tell you that you will be able to take your Satio for camping weekend ;)

Hi, just ordered my Satio, should be here in a few days. I am wondering, are you using your Satio without protection? How does the glass screen and materials all hold up to punishment of daily use?

I’m thinking to purchase the Invisible shield for the Satio to keep it looking good.

Hi, I will write review on Satio accessories, including InvisibleShield today :) So that you’ll know what to do.
For now I can tell you that I’m rather neutral when it come to it, but I’ll describe it in more detail later.
Thanks for visiting ;)

Awesome, I LOVE this blog!

Hopefully we can turn this place to a bit Satio community, with many owners contributing to advance this phone and the grassroots for SE support.

Great post about the accessories!

Maybe you can do a “How to” on the proper charging of the battery, like do you charge the phone off or on the first time? How many times should the battery be drained fully and fully recharged and for how long each time?

Stuff like that I’m sure will help many Satio owners to get a proper working battery, so they don’t complain :D

I also found this out on GSM Arena, maybe it is useful to you, maybe not.

red – green – red – red – green – red (call keys)”

mich, I don’t think so to be honest :)
The slider seems to be very sturdy and stable.

Piotr, how much does SE pay for your advertising? You are obviously not competent for the claims you presented here. Most of the things you said here are nonsense, without any facts to support them. For instance you said that we can count for
satio battery to last through weekend!?Even with basic use Satio can hardly make it through a day(with battery properly formed). Then you described how to make
video for playback on Satio.Wrong again! I experimented a lot and finaly made it
to work with Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate (using MP4-mpeg4 video(*.mp4) preset, under general Video tab). The list goes on and on,most of the things you say are nothing but
bullshit.
I love my Satio and I have change N97 for this phone becouse I am seek of Nokia weak hardware, lack of ram..etc..but Satio in this moment
needs a lots of improvements through firmware, and SE guys should work hard on that, because at this moment handsets is practically unusable. It is very unstable, constantly reseting,freezing.., specially if you put some more programs on it,which basically is what smartphone is all about.N97 with first firmware was
even worse, but Nokia managed to solve most of the things, they did it by listening to the users, their complains and their wishes.SE could learn a lot
from them, because users are those who they live from, they live from their
money and their thrust. If you ignore them, they will ignore you.It is that simple. I wrote this because of the people who believe in yours sweet lies,
and then act based on them, just to realize they have been cheated. After that
they hate you and SE.And all of that just because you were so ignorant.

Hi zero!
No need to be so harsh.
I agree, something went wrong with the handbrake converting, I’ve discussed it with Monaco few days back. Actually, thanks for posting that, I will update that post.
Regarding battery life, i know it’s not superb, but it’s good enough. I’ve never run of power during a day… And such things were happening to me on daily basis with N95 I had few years back. I am giving relative comparisons here, all to the best of my knowledge. But it really depends on the use, on screen brightness settings, on features (e.g. bluetooh on/off) etc. So i agree it could have been a little subjective.
Regarding Nokia, I think they are far more ignorant than any other manufacturer.
Regarding occasional bugs, I am reporting them on weekly basis to Sony Ericsson (although I didn’t find any more recently). And I can assure you, nobody paid me a penny for anything I said! :)

Piotr

Hi goutham,
I am affraid it is not particularly scratch resistant. Of course it has some resistance, but not a loot and it could get scratched if you didn’t take much care of it…

Hey
I’m planning on purchasing this phone, but i’m between the satio and the xperia X2 which would you recommend? Also are the bugs such as screen freezing and random rebooting or any other that often? should I be concerned about this? Another question I have from any satio user is about the alarm clock, can u set multiple alarms like the Nokia 5800 xpresss music for heavy sleepers :P ?
Thanks You

I was really expecting the phone to be a bit of a disaster in terms of battery life and stability. However mine came with the latest firmware and to be honest it is nothing like the reviews. Battery life isn’t bad at all – I went over 24 hours yesterday with video and camera usage along with quite a few phone calls. At the end battery was half full which isn’t bad – it’s no C902 but considering what the reviews said that’s excellent. Had it two weeks now and not one single freeze. Camera is just great on it. Call quality is really good too – though for me the minimum volume setting both for music and calls is a tad loud. Touch screen performance is quite nippy – yes you have to place a bit of pressure but if you’ve ever used an HTC touch series you’ll know what to expect. It’s no Iphone but certainly not the nightmare some reviews stated – I actually prefer it as I find Iphone type touch too sensitive.

Some glitches though still – when you have over 20 SMS messages locally it doesn’t seem too keen on that and if you change it to the memory card it copies them over but then switches back to local SMS when a new SMS message arrives. Media player doesn’t have the file organiser view either as on the previous A200 platform Sony’s (K850,C902,C905 & W9 series etc) which is a bit of a pain if your music tracks aren’t labelled properly. Apart from that really glad I read Gsmarena’s review which is more accurate than the very poor reviews elsewhere. With the latest firmware a really excellent camera – video / media phone which unlike some other phones actually does the job of making calls properly too! It’s also lighter than the Iphone which is surprising when you first pick it up as it looks like it will be heavy – light enough in fact to fit in a shirt top pocket without pulling it down.

Sorry I forgot to add – don’t believe the rubbish either that saving 12 Megapixel images has a delay vs 9 Megapixel images – I’ve not been able to tell the difference.

Hey Everyone I would like to say big-ups to Piotr. im all the way in South Africa and i just Love my phone. was shipped to me a few weeks back. i have a black one and everyone thinks its a media player other than a cellphone of which i agree. what even kills them the most is the 12.1mp camera thats four times most their fones mp. the phone can be your best friend if you take care of it.one dissapointment is the lack of 3.5mm jack but other than that its a real iphone killer.
